Meet Sage Homes
We have been so blessed this year with all the opportunities to collaborate with new construction builders! This summer we partnered with Sage Custom Homes to furnish their newest build in the Des Moines Home Expo. This white brick ranch style home was so refreshing with white oak accents throughout.
We reached out to Abbi of Sage Homes, who was the lead designer on this particular build to ask a few questions about their team and the process of designing this home.
For this home, they were heavily inspired by English and European architecture. All of the finishes chosen for this home where chosen in order to keep the home effortlessly timeless and transitional.
We of course had to know what was their favorite part of the project - which was the kitchen! Abbi designed the Kitchen in a way that sets the tone for every other room in the home. The open concept allows it to be such a communal space, where everyone speads the most time together. Abbi deemed it as the heart of the home.
This was their second year participating in the Home Show Expo. This year, the home won awards for Best Master Suite, Best Kitchen, Best Layout, Liability, and Best in Show overall! The team at Sage put their hearts into this bulid, as they do for all of their projects - so this was an incredibility proud moment for their entire team.
At Sage, what you see is what you get. They pride themselves on honestly, quality work, and an outstanding finished product. We couldn't be happier to work with such an outstanding company!

The Furnishings
Under the Louis sectional we incorporated a stunning one of a kind, vintage Persian rug in with soft pinks, blues, and ivory. The Ghent Coffee Table, by Verellen was an obvious choice with the interesting low profile shape. We finished off the look with the Emmett Sling Chair in Merino Porcelain for optical comfort - sitting in the Emmett is comparable to being cradled in a hammock.
The bedroom was one of our very favorite spaces of the entire house - in true Amethyst fashion, we had planned on gorgeous high pile wool rug for under the Round Off Bed but ended up being slightly too creamy for the space - luckily for us we had just gotten back from High Point Market where we may have gone a bit overboard purchasing one of a kind rugs so we had the most perfect rug in our back pocket. The second we rolled it out the entire team gasped in harmony, we knew it was the one. The art above the round off bed is Mountain High Art III and Mountain High Art II
We had an absolute blast partnering with Sage Homes and couldn't be happier with how this project turned out. Special thanks to the team at Sage for having us and Ann Marie + Co for their expert styling of all the nooks and crannies!
