gunner daybed alicia sofa cisco brothers verellen sofa living room nebraska amethyst home

This living room project tugged at my heart strings -- the home has been in the family for several generations.   Because of the blessings of many small feet and close relatives, we needed to add seating.  I love the open flow of their home and knew we needed seating that was conversational -- not so traditional.

We first selected a chesterfield sofa -- top of my client's list!  I'm a huge fan of Verellen sofa quality and knew that their version of the Chesterfield would be hard to beat.  She selected an oversized, hammered nailhead detail that beautifully detailed the shape of the arm.  I love the high back on this sofa and the extra luxurious cushions.  Many of the Chesterfields I saw while sourcing looked pretty but had firm, tight cushions.  This needed to be as comfortable as it was pretty.  We went with a dark charcoal cotton velvet with subtle stitching.  The feet are Verellen's signature gorgeous Ash wood in greywash.

The Gunner Daybed in 7' by Cisco Brothers is another favorite of mine -- I think it belongs in every home.  The comfort is divine.  Because the living room opened up to the sunroom (another frequently used room in the home), I wanted to select a piece with sight lines and versatility.  We matched the length of the sofa and selected a hearty cotton/jute fabric to hold up to family gatherings.  Also -- may I just say this piece is perfect for naps...

My client owned the beautiful top rug but it was a little too small for the new furniture layout.  We solved it with this larger jute rug for layering.  My client also found these two swivel leather chairs which work great with the new layout.
